WRITERS REQUIRED URGENTLY for BEST OF BAHRAIN
BEST OF BAHRAIN is broken down into industry chapters. We provide a short (600 word) brief on every industry per chapter followed by advertorials of key industry players within the chapter, with
the intention of promoting the country as a whole to the international tourist and investor.
We require writeups for the following:
1) Bahrain Overview.
2) Dining & Entertainment (300 - 600 words max.) - To provide a summary on the dining and entertainment scene in Bahrain vis a vis the surrounding region.
3) Culture, Museums and Galleries (300 - 600 words max.) - To provide a summary on the available cultural scene old to new in Bahrain that promotes tourism and economy. Mentioning of course the
initiatives by Ministry of Culture.
4) Lifestyle (300 - 600 words max) - To summarize a day in the life in Bahrain, focused on the shopping and retail environment.
5) SME (300 - 600 words max) - To summarize the environment of Small to medium size enterprise in Bahrain, its ease of start-up in comparison to the region and benefits to Bahrain
6) Technology, Communication and Media (300-600 words max) - To summarize the technology and communication environment, whereby there is liberalization of telecoms, high accessibility of internet
etc.
7) Travel & Tourism (300-600 words max) - To provide a summary on the key touristic attraction BIC, Boat Show, Airshow etc...

Bare Necessities
• You know your Guccis from the Pradas, which means you are well-versed with the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of the Luxury Lifestyle sector
• Be able to generating a pool of local stories relevant for a luxury lifestyle magazine
• Strong editing experience, not just proof reading
• Excellent research and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Representing the title at various platforms
• Available to work full time or part time
Bonus Attributes
• Hold relevant qualifications in the field of Journalism
• Excellent communication and co-ordination skills
• Extensive travel experience and worldly-wise
• Should be equally comfortable writing on economic and telecommunication issues of the nation
• Be able to create a buzz in Social media via tools such as Facebook and Twitter
Experience
The candidate needs to be well organised, able to meet strict deadlines, show meticulous work standards. He/She should also have a great eye for detail and should be able to take on diverse responsibilities. Lifestyle writing experience is mandatory. The Flaneur is an indie arts and culture site. We are looking for people to review art exhibitions and other cultural events in Bahrain. We are all volunteers, so there is no pay - please ignore this request if that is an immediate problem. If not, we also publish short fiction and poetry and are looking for new writers from around the world.
