Join Us!

The BWC is open to anyone, whether published or not! We warmly welcome new writers, but for those that have not written anything, we do ask that you start to write by participating in our monthly writing projects – you cannot join a Writers' group yet not write!

From January 1^st 2012 membership will be just 10BD (ten Bahrain dinar) a year, which goes towards administration, website hosting, membership cards, organising events etc. Membership year runs from 01st Jan to 31st December. 

As a member you get:

• To attend our monthly group meetings with guest speakers
• To attend our Creative Writing Workshops
• To attend The Second Circle poetry workshops

All for just 833 fils a month - less than the price of a cup of coffee!! If you attend every monthly meeting and every creative writing and poetry workshop, it will work out at just over 100fils a meeting! No reason not to join!! 

The first time is free, but thereafter you cannot join BWC activities and workshops without being a member.

From Jan 01st 2012 all BWC members must agree to:

• Attend at least one BWC event every three months, either the monthly meeting or the Creative Writing or Poetry Workshops. You cannot be a member of the BWC yet never attend any BWC event or meeting!

• Pay the 10BD joining fee. Because of costs of printing membership cards etc, regardless of when you join, all memberships start from 01st Jan 2012 and run until 31st Dec 2012.

• Write! You have to either show you are an established writer (by your application form information), or show you want to be a writer by submitting one project to the Creative Writers group or Poetry group at least every two months. This is not for any form of criticism, so don't worry, but, as mentioned, you cannot be a member of a writers group and not write!

Overseas Membership

If you are no longer living or based in Bahrain, but still want to join the Bahrain Writers' Circle... you can! 

Of course you won't be able to join our monthly meetings or workshops, but you can still have a page on our BWC website showcasing you as a writer, your website / blog / email address as well as samples of your work. We will also keep you fully updated with BWC news. However, to join the BWC as an overseas member, you do have to have some connection to Bahrain, either having lived or worked here, having family here or Bahraini.
